3. Playboi Carti

Rapper Playboi Carti comes in third on the list of the richest headliners for Rolling Loud Miami 2024. The Atlanta, Georgia, native is worth an estimated $9 million.

Playboi Carti’s net worth stems from sales of his two studio albums, Die Lit and Whole Lotta Red. A third album is expected later this year.

Beyond his music releases, Carti also founded the record label and rap collective Opium to add to his bottom line. Five headlining tours and some modeling work have also expanded Playboi Carti’s net worth.

2. Future

Future will also headline Rolling Loud Miami 2024. The 40-year-old rapper (born Nayvadius DeMun Cash) has a net worth of $50 million.

Future became a professional rapper when he signed his first record deal in 2011. Since then, countless hit singles and chart-topping albums have inflated his net worth.

6 ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ movies leave Netflix in June 2024

June 2024 offers streamers their final chance to watch the first five A Nightmare on Elm Street movies and the 2010 remake on Netflix. The streaming service will drop the collection on June 30.

That means time is running out to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985), A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987), A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988), A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (1989), and A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010).

Robert Englund plays Freddy Kruger in the five original films from the ‘80s. Along the way, he crosses paths with Heather Langenkamp, Johnny Depp, Patricia Arquette, and Lisa Wilcox.

Actor Jackie Earle Haley played Freddy in the 2010 reboot. Rooney Mara, Kellen Lutz, and Connie Britton appeared in supporting roles.

More ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ movies could be on the way

While A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Netflix run may be coming to an end, the franchise reportedly could continue on the big screen.

In 2019, rights to the franchise reverted back to the estate of original director Wes Craven. The estate announced plans to continue Freddy Kruger’s story in future films. Pitches for a TV project were also rumored.

Previously, actor Elijah Wood and his producing partner Daniel Noah expressed doing something with the character. The duo revealed they’d been in contact with the rights holders over the years, but nothing materialized from what they claimed would be a different take on Freddy Kruger.

Doctor Sleep writer/director Mike Flanagan also voiced his interest in helming a Nightmare on Elm Street project. In 2019, he tweeted that he had a pitch ready to go.

The Elm Street fan base is definitely eager for more of the dream-invading serial killer. Fan-made trailers for a Nightmare on Elm Street 2025 movie have imagined Millie Bobby Brown and Jenna Ortega as scream queens going against Freddy. Still, no rumors have surfaced about who could play Freddy Kruger next.

Until something official is announced, Netflix remains where to stream A Nightmare on Elm Street. That is, until June 30, 2024.

‘Happy Gilmore’ leaves Netflix on May 31

Happy Gilmore‘s round on Netflix officially ends on May 31. The 1996 comedy joins a list of fan-favorite titles leaving the streamer at the end of the month, including the Hunger Games series and Dwayne Johnson’s Skyscraper.

Happy Gilmore earned mixed reviews when it hit theaters but managed to pull in a respectable box-office return. But it’s been over the past two decades where the film has earned cult-classic status. Sandler’s signature rage as Happy, Carl Weathers’ surprise comedy chops as Chubb, Bob Barker’s cameo, and Michael McDonald’s performance as the villain Shooter McGavin has left audiences laughing for years. It’s no surprise Netflix kept Happy Gilmore in its library for so long.

Netflix announced ‘Happy Gilmore 2’

As far back as 2022, Adam Sandler teased a sequel to Happy Gilmore. He hinted that a new movie would see Gilmore involved in a senior tour.

Then, Michael McDonald revealed Sandler showed him a draft of Happy Gilmore 2 in March 2024. Netflix wasted little time, confirming the movie during an upfront presentation on May 15, 2024.

Netflix didn’t release any other details about the plot or cast. But based on McDonald’s comments, there seems to be a part to play for Shooter McGavin.

Julie Bowen, who co-starred as Happy’s love interest, Virginia Venit, is also likely to return. She teamed up with Sandler for his 2020 Netflix film Hubie Halloween.

Twenty years ago, Troy and its cast made its mark on epic filmmaking. Director Wolfgang Petersen’s take on Homer’s Iliad featured an ensemble cast led by Brad Pitt and created a wildly entertaining, if not entirely accurate, movie.

Working from a script by future Games of Thrones showrunner David Benioff, the Troy cast brought to life legends like Achilles, Helen of Troy, and Hector. Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, and Diane Kruger were among those who joined Pitt in the impressive cast. While many of the actors haven’t made another film on Troy‘s scale, they continue to perform in blockbuster movies 20 years later.

A 40-year-old Brad Pitt starred as the de facto lead of the Troy cast as the hero Achilles. However, as Pitt admitted in 2019, he didn’t want any part of Troy.

“I had to do Troy because – I guess I can say all this now – I pulled out of another movie and then had to do something for the studio,” he told the New York Times. “So I was put in Troy. It wasn’t painful, but I realized that the way that movie was being told was not how I wanted it to be.“

Obviously, it didn’t have any adverse effects on Pitt’s career. After winning a Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 2019, he co-stars in 2024’s Wolfs with George Clooney.

In 2024, Bloom starred in the action thriller Red Right Hand. He also leads the Peacock series Orlando Bloom: To the Edge, where he explores the world and performs death-defying stunts.

Netflix and Dwayne Johnson movies have been a winning tag team in the past. But now, the streaming giant is looking to cut ties with one of the actor’s biggest box-office flops.

The changes in Netflix’s collection of Dwayne Johnson movies come at the same time he dodges questions about his reputation and professionalism. Johnson and Netflix have a history together, but it could be clouded by Johnson’s flailing reputation.

Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Skyscraper’ leaves Netflix on May 31

Netflix revealed that it will drop Skyscraper from its catalog on May 31. The 2018 action thriller managed to find a second life on Netflix despite being a box-office disaster upon its release.

Skyscraper towered over the Netflix top 10 trending movies as far back as 2020. More recently, it landed back among the streamer’s most popular movies in early April 2024.

But that will all change at the end of the month. Skyscraper will no longer be available to stream on Netflix beginning May 31.

‘Skyscraper’ suffered poor reviews and a weak box-office return

The success of Skyscraper on Netflix has added some revisionist history to the film. However, it’s worth noting that viewers are typically more likely to give a so-so movie a shot at home as opposed to shelling out hard-earned money to see it in theaters.

That seems to be the case with Skyscraper. Critics dismissed the Dwayne Johnson movie as a weaker imitation of Die Hard and The Towering Inferno. Like most Johnson films, it didn’t reinvent the genre or push its leading man beyond his comfort zone on screen.

Skyscraper pulled in a worldwide box office return of $305 million. An unoriginal plot and Dwayne Johnson fatigue likely contributed to the lower-that-expected earnings.

Dwayne Johnson’s last Netflix movie had a rocky production

A bombshell story from TheWrap has cast a shadow over Dwayne Johnson and Netflix’s previous collaboration. According to sources, the production of Red Notice suffered setbacks and in-fighting due to Johnson’s tardiness.

The story reported that Johnson’s apparent refusal to work more than a handful of hours each day caused problems on Red Notice. The Netflix original co-starred Ryan Reynolds, who reportedly got in an explosive fight with Johnson over his professionalism.

Red Notice became Netflix’s most-watched movie thanks to the collective star power of Johnson, Reynolds, and Gal Gadot. Plans for sequels immediately followed. However, no solid updates have come since the movie’s 2021 release. Sources for TheWrap claim Johnson and Reynolds have patched things up. But it’s unclear if it’s enough to get Red Notice 2 and Dwayne Johnson’s Netflix future back on track.

All 4 original ‘Hunger Games’ movies leave Netflix on May 31

Like the tributes in the Hunger Games, the movies were never meant to last on Netflix. The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Part I and Part II leave Netflix on May 31.

The series leaves the streaming service soon after arriving. Netflix added the four original Hunger Games movies to its platform in March 2024. That coincided with the DVD and Blu-ray release of the prequel film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. And while that movie didn’t catch fire in the same way as the original, it made a meaningful contribution to the franchise.

Where to stream the ‘Hunger Games’ movies after May 31

If you can’t get through all four Hunger Games movies before the end of the month, you may wonder where to stream the movies next.

Unfortunately, options are limited. Once The Hunger Games leaves Netflix, they won’t be free on any streaming services. The series left Peacock at the end of 2023, removing another streaming service that carried the Jennifer Lawrence movies. Apple and Google currently offer the films to rent.

However, there is some good news in the world of streaming for the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will begin streaming on Starz in May 2024.

Finally, Craig and Paige’s relationship received a thorough analysis from Danielle. She questioned why Paige hadn’t made it clear she was ready for marriage. Paige brushed it off but later confided to Amanda that Danielle wasn’t exactly in a position to judge anyone’s relationship.

‘The Voice’ is new tonight, April 22

There will be a brand new episode of The Voice tonight, April 22. It all starts at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC. Subscribers can also stream the episode on Peacock.

Tonight’s episode is “The Playoffs Premiere.” The Voice Season 25 enters the playoff round, requiring each coach to select just three artists to advance.

To make that choice, they’ll listen to each of the remaining 20 singers perform their chosen song. John Legend’s and Dan + Shay’s teams will perform tonight. Maluma will advise Team Legend, while Saweetie will lend a hand to Team Dan + Shay.

Similar to last season, the playoff round will not air live. Instead, it was prerecorded along with the previous rounds. There will be no interactive voting from fans.

So far, the reality show has been in California, the Dahlonega Gold Belt in Georgia and Alabama, the Rogue River in Oregon, and the Black Hills of South Dakota (made famous by the HBO series Deadwood).
