‘Disgusted’ Prince William Doesn’t Reportedly Want Prince Harry to Get His Inheritance

Prince Harry wouldn’t be in for a hefty payday when he turns 40 in September if Prince William got his way. The Prince of Wales, 42, reportedly wishes his younger brother, the Duke of Sussex, weren’t getting millions in inheritance for “without lifting a finger” come Sept. 15, 2024.

Harry’s inheritance kicks in when he’s 40

This particular birthday is a big one for Harry. Not only is he entering a new decade of his life, but he’ll now be of age to get access to millions left for him by Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. (That’s his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II’s mom.)

The Queen Mother, who died in 2002, set up a $90 million trust fund for her great-grandchildren. However, she stipulated that it couldn’t be accessed until the age of 40. This means that on Sept. 15, when Harry turns 40, he will receive a reported $8.5 million in inheritance.

The amount is said to be slightly more than what William inherited when he got his own share in 2022. The reason, per royal biographer Christopher Andersen, is because he’s the heir to the throne.

As such, the Queen Mother knew he stood to inherit the Duchy of Cornwall’s more than $1 billion in assets upon becoming the Prince of Wales, which he did in September 2022.

William thinks Harry’s not in ‘any position’ to get an inheritance

A source told Closer William is not pleased his brother’s set to have millions more in the bank. (Harry and Meghan Markle’s joint net worth is estimated to be somewhere around $60 million.) The reason: He hasn’t done anything to get it.

“William’s pretty disgusted that once again Harry’s going to be cashing out and taking millions back to his Montecito home without lifting a finger for it,” the insider said. “There’s nothing he can do about it aside from shaking his head. But if it were up to him, Harry would not be getting this payday.”

They also claimed William objected to Harry gaining access to his portion of their great-grandmother’s trust fund. Legally, however, the future king couldn’t do anything because the Queen Mother expressly left the money to Harry.

“William doesn’t think his brother is in any position to be getting this handout,” the source added. “And he’s letting it be known that he thinks it’s a pretty rotten situation.”

Kate’s not happy about Harry getting his inheritance either

Apparently, William’s not the only one who isn’t thrilled about Harry coming into some money. The insider suggested Harry’s sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, whom he described in Spare as “the sister [he] never had and always wanted,” doesn’t like the “idea” either.

The reason, they explained, is because of a breakdown in trust between the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“William and Kate don’t trust Harry or Meghan one bit,” they said. “So the idea that Harry’s now cashing in on his great-granny’s inheritance leaves a very bitter taste in their mouths.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s rift with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has taken a major toll on the two couples’ children. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis aren’t close with their cousins, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. So much so that, according to a royal author, Archie and Lili have been “replaced” by other royal cousins who have become close to the Wales kids.

Speaking to The Sun’s Fabulous magazine, royal author Phil Dampier claimed George, Charlotte, and Louis don’t know much about their California-based cousins.

“It’s so sad that the Wales kids basically know very little about their cousins across the pond and are never likely to be close to them,” he said. “It’s not thought that George, Charlotte, and Louis have ever met Archie and Lilibet.”

Harry and Meghan welcomed Archie in May 2019 before leaving royal life in 2020 and relocating to Montecito, California. Before Archie was born tensions had already been brewing between Harry and Meghan and William and Kate. By the time Lili came along in June 2021, things had gotten worse. (Remember, the Sussexes’ Oprah interview aired in March of that year.)

Because of the estrangement, George, Charlotte, and Lili didn’t see Archie and Lili in 2022 when the Sussex family visited England. “Although they were invited to Lilibet’s first birthday party at Frogmore Cottage [Harry and Meghan’s former U.K. home], they did not go,” Dampier claimed.

The Tindall children have ‘replaced’ Archie and Lili ‘in many ways’ for George, Charlotte, and Louis

So, who has “replaced” Archie and Lili? Zara and Mike Tindall’s kids: Mia, Lena, and Lucas. “In many ways, the children of Zara and Mike Tindall have replaced Archie and Lilibet as the closest cousins of George, Charlotte, and Louis,” Dampier said.

Not only are the Wales kids close in age to their Tindall cousins—Mia, Lena, and Lucas are 10, 6, and 3—but their parents are close. Mike is said to have become part of William’s “inner circle,” and the couples are seen chatting at many royal family events.

Dampier also claimed William and Kate’s kids enjoy being with the Tindalls because “when they see each other, the fun is infectious. At Christmas at Sandringham, at events like Trooping the Colour, state occasions, or holidays at Balmoral, the cousins play together and get on well.”

“It’s something Archie and Lilibet are missing out on,” he added. “And you just wonder if in years to come, when they grow up, they will start asking their parents why they are estranged from the royal family.”

More bonding time is in store for the Tindall and Wales cousins soon. While a scheduling conflict may keep Mia, Lena, and Lucas from hanging out with George, Charlotte, and Louis at Balmoral, King Charles III is reportedly eager for the Tindalls to come. So much so that he’ll even change the schedule so they don’t miss out on some family traditions.

Not only would George, Charlotte, and Louis’ lives seem “alien” to Archie and Lili, but, according to author Tom Quinn, the five royals will likely face challenges if and when they someday try to build a relationship.

“I can imagine one of them […] when they’re older might reach out and think, ‘We really need to do something about this,’” he said.

Their parents’ history and being in the spotlight will, Quinn predicted, make it difficult if one of them ever reaches out.

“I think if they’re constantly under the media spotlight, it will be very difficult for them because everyone will comment on it,” the author explained. “If they suddenly meet up, the press will get hold of it and make a big thing of it, and they’ll be back to square one.”

Snoop on Queen Elizabeth: ‘My girl’

On his way to Paris, France, for the Olympics, Snoop spent some time in London. There he spoke with Capital FM’s DJ Jordan North and called Queen Elizabeth, who died in September 2022 at the age of 96, his “girl.”

First, he said he might stop by Buckingham Palace. “I’ll go by the palace, see if they let me in,” he replied when asked what his plans were for the visit.

“Well, I’ve heard the future king, [Prince] William, is a huge Snoop fan,” the DJ said to which Snoop shared he’s not his only royal fan. (The Prince of Wales is also a big AC/DC fan.)

“Well, the queen was a fan too. Rest in peace to the queen, that was my girl. You know what I’m saying? So, just may want to go up and, you know, see what you do.”

Queen Elizabeth came to Snoop’s ‘defense’ amid 1994 calls to ban him from the U.K.

Snoop’s fondness for Queen Elizabeth goes back 30 years to 1994. At the time, the “Gin and Juice” rapper was facing murder charges, which were later dropped, in Los Angeles, California. Set to tour in the U.K., some didn’t want him to visit or perform in the country.

As the Grammy winner told DJ Whoo Kid in 2022, the queen made the ban talk go away by saying he could go to the U.K.

“Guess who came to my defense? Just take a guess,” Snoop said. “The queen. The queen said, ‘This man has done nothing in our country. He can come.’”

“The queen…bow down,” he added. “When the queen speaks, bow down.”

In the same interview, Snoop speculated other British royals, namely the queen’s young grandsons, William and Prince Harry, now 42 and 39 and estranged, played a part in what happened back in 1994.

“You think they weren’t there, saying, ‘Grandma, please let him in, grandma. He’s OK. We love his music,’” he said.

Speaking to The Guardian in 2015, Snoop explained how his music gave him “influence” behind palace walls.

“When they tried to kick me out of England,” he told the publication, “the queen made a comment that her grandbabies loved Snoop Doggy Dogg, and he had done no wrong in the UK. So she gave me permission to be here.”

“Those grandbabies grew up to be Prince William and Harry. So I had influence on them, and they had influence on their grandmother, which enabled me to get into this beautiful country.”

“They love my music, and it is what it is. There’s a mutual love and respect,” he concluded.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle famously left the royal family back in 2020 after they felt they weren’t being well-protected from the media and the public’s scrutiny — and it was damaging to their mental health. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have since settled down into a quieter life in Montecito, California, but they still take on a number of public appearances and have been shaping their own businesses and brands.

But Meghan once said something about royal fashion that suggested she wasn’t allowed to wear her preferred colors, yet it seems that her outfits since leaving the family go directly against her claims.

Meghan Markle often wears neutral colors

During her time in the royal family, Meghan was often spotted wearing neutral colors like beige, white, and navy. Of course, this was the complete opposite of Queen Elizabeth II, who was known for her love of pastels. But during an interview long after leaving the family, Meghan made it seem like she only wore neutrals because she couldn’t outshine any of the other senior royals.

“When I was in the UK I rarely wore color,” Meghan said in her Netflix documentary with Harry. “I wore a lot of muted tones. I also wore it so I could just blend in. I’m not trying to stand out here. I don’t want to embarrass the family.”

Meghan continued, “To my understanding, you can’t ever wear the same color as Her Majesty if there’s a group event. But then you also shouldn’t be wearing the same color as one of the other more senior members of the family.”

While this does make some sense, Meghan is suggesting that her fashion sense was stifled and that she only dressed a certain way because she was so scared of what the royals would think — but her outfits today paint a different picture. Despite having left the family years ago, Meghan almost always wears neutrals to events. You’ll rarely, if ever, see the duchess in a bright outfit. She wore white to the ESPYs, beige during her recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, and has almost exclusively worn neutrals or dark colors for appearances with Harry during the Invictus Games.

Fashion experts expected Meghan Markle to wear brighter colors outside royal life

Meghan faced many challenges during her time as a royal, and the impact they had on her emotional and mental health should very much be believed. However, the statement about muted fashion in the family, specifically, doesn’t add up given that Meghan continues to choose muted colors. It seems that it is just a fashion preference rather than because she was scared.

“It’s a little unexpected,” style expert Miranda Holder said in an interview with Express, referring to Meghan’s fashion choices since leaving royal life. “Following her statement, I think we all expected the duchess to be stepping out in a rainbow of vivid hues and making the most of her newfound freedom on the wardrobe front, but it’s quite the opposite.”

Prince William is “fed up” with Prince Harry. The Prince of Wales, 42, is reportedly “spitting mad” at his younger brother, the Duke of Sussex. Why? Because he won’t stop discussing Princess Diana in the press. Ahead, what Harry recently said about their late mother that’s got William upset.

William is upset Harry keeps talking about Diana

According to New Idea magazine, William’s not happy after Harry discussed Diana in ITV’s Tabloids on Trial documentary, which aired in the U.K. last month.

“William is spitting mad that Harry would reference [Princess Diana] again,” a source said (via Sky News Australia). Apparently, it’s gotten to the point where “he’s so fed up with [Harry and Meghan Markle] cashing in on Diana’s death.”

The insider went on to suggest there are monetary motivations behind the Duke and Duchess of Sussex discussing Diana publicly, something William despises.

“Harry just won’t move on,” they said. “And it appears that since marrying Meghan, the obsession with his mother has only intensified. William’s getting to the point where he’s washing his hands of Harry for good.”

William and Harry have been estranged for years. However, if both attend the funeral of their uncle Robert Fellowes, they might find themselves in the same room.

Princess Diana ‘wasn’t paranoid’ about phone hacking, according to Harry

So, what exactly did Harry say that’s got William upset? The 39-year-old suggested their late mother had been subjected to phone hacking by British tabloids.

“There is evidence to suggest that she was being hacked in the mid-90s, probably one of the first people to be hacked,” Harry said in Tabloids on Trial (via Deadline). “And yet still today, the press, the tabloid press very much enjoy painting her as being paranoid.”

“But she wasn’t paranoid,” he added. “She was absolutely right of what was happening to her. And she’s not around today to find out the truth.”

In the same interview, he also admitted legal battles with Mirror Group, News Group Newspapers, and Associated Newspapers have worsened his relationship with William and their father, King Charles III.

Harry has felt his mother’s presence ‘very much’ in recent years

Diana has, as Harry told Today’s Hoda Kotb in 2022, been with him every step of the way since leaving royal life in 2020.

Well, past events have shown that the Princess of Wales has had a bit of a tense relationship with one of Prince William‘s cousins, while another one of her husband‘s cousins gets “inspiration” from Kate.

The clip posted on X (formerly Twitter) contains footage of the royal family leaving an annual Christmas Day service at St. Mary Magdalene Church on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk. The video shows Eugenie pushing past Kate outside the church to get in front of her. The Princess of Wales stopped and turned briefly to see who she felt blow by her. Then, as Kate walks past Eugenie, she gives her a hard stare before flicking her hair and moving on to greet well-wishers.

When the video made the rounds, fans became convinced that the two never got along. That could be why we don’t see many pictures of them together even though they attend a lot of the same royal events.

As for the royal who “takes inspiration” from the Princess of Wales, that is Eugenie’s sister Princess Beatrice, according to an expert.

Darren Stanton is a body language and behavioral expert with a degree in psychology. He previously worked as a police officer and used his expertise to uncover the truth when interviewing hundreds of suspects. He later moved into media and TV as a consultant and has been dubbed the “Human Lie Detector.” He talked about the way Beatrice presents herself in public is just like Kate, who she draws inspiration from.

The U.K. is calling Princess Eugenie’s name. The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson reportedly wants to be in Britain on a “more permanent basis” after two years of living primarily in Portugal.

Expect to see more of Eugenie in England if, as a report from Express says, the 34-year-old is ready to spend more time back home after moving to Portugal in 2022 for her husband’s job.

(Brooksbank runs a hospitality consulting firm specializing in the “wholesale of wine, beer, spirits, and other alcoholic beverages,” per Tatler.)

The couple, who married in 2018, currently splits their time between London, England, and Portugal. However, the success of Brooksbank’s U.K.-based company has them considering moving back to England for good with their two sons, August, 3, and Ernest, 1.

“Eugenie is adamant that she wants to head back to the U.K. on a more permanent basis and use the villa in Portugal as a holiday home,” a source said. “They are very close to their families, and all like spending lots of quality time together with the children.”

“The Discovery Land Company has recently acquired new land next to the CostaTerra resort, so that will be expanding,” they added. “Jack will be working on marketing the projects there but Eugenie has her heart set on more time in Britain.”

The timing is right for a ‘more permanent’ move back to Britain

The insider continued, saying the timing is right given the success Eugenie’s husband has had with his drinks company, which he renamed AEB Consultants Ltd. in honor of their sons.

“Jack’s success has given them the freedom to fly back and forth between two countries and provide the boys with a loving and close-knit family unit,” the source said. His company “doing so well makes it easier for them to head back to England on a more permanent basis.”

“They [the family] are currently spending a lot of time in Portugal. And as the boys get a bit older, they are looking for kindergartens near to their London home and eventually schools in the U.K.”

“They are British through and through,” the insider said of Eugenie and her husband. “There’s no way they would move away from the U.K. on a permanent basis.”

Since relocating to Portugal, Eugenie, Brooksbank, and their two sons have occasionally returned to England. On those visits, they’ve sometimes reportedly stayed at Frogmore Cottage, the former U.K. home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Eugenie previously called living in Portugal ‘the dream’

Portugal is “the dream,” for Eugenie. She said as much on a November 2023 episode of the “Table Manners” podcast. The reason, she explained, is the level of privacy.

“Portugal is the dream as I can go to the supermarket in my exercise gear and my hair piled on top of my head and not care. No one cares,” she said.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are reportedly not as close to Eugenie as they once were, visited them in Portugal after the 2023 Invictus Games wrapped up in Germany (via Vanity Fair).

A “‘life of service’” isn’t for Meghan Markle—at least not exclusively. A royal expert says the Duchess of Sussex, 43, has a “driving force” unrelated to giving back. So what’s she focused on? Things at home in Montecito, California.

Meghan’s ‘driving force’ in life is making money for the Sussex family

According to Jennie Bond, a royal expert and former BBC royal correspondent, Meghan’s “driving force” in life centers around her, Prince Harry, and their two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.

“I suspect that Meghan is a commercial woman with philanthropic ideas aplenty,” Bond told OK! Magazine (via Mirror). Rather, “her driving force is to capitalise [sic] on her fame and ensure she and Harry have enough money for all their needs.”

Their primary—and perhaps most costly—necessity is security. Harry and Meghan have paid for private security ever since losing their royal protection detail when they left royal life in 2020.

It remains an ongoing issue, one Harry’s fighting legally. (He has plans to appeal after losing in court in February.) It’s also reportedly the reason Harry and his father, King Charles III, aren’t talking.

Nevertheless, Harry and Meghan have made millions of dollars since leaving life as working royals. In their post-royal lives, they’ve inked multiple media deals—Spotify, Netflix, Penguin Random House—that have contributed significantly to their estimated $60 million net worth.

A mix of business, charity, and ‘makeshift royal tours’ for Meghan

Bond continued, saying committing her life to only service doesn’t seem to be for Meghan. “I’m not quite convinced that she is totally signed up to a ‘life of service.’ So I imagine there will be occasional forays into charity work and makeshift royal tours.”

“But I think she is a businesswoman at heart,” she added. “And, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that!”

These days, the former BBC royal commentator said, Meghan’s looking to what’s head, not at her past as a working royal.

“Meghan has made her feelings about royal life abundantly clear and appears to be looking forward rather than dwelling on the past,” Bond said. “She has said her piece about life with the royals, and now she has moved on.”

Meghan has multiple projects on the way

The “businesswoman” part of Meghan is perhaps busier than ever. The 43-year-old has several projects gearing up to launch, including her return to lifestyle content—she shuttered her lifestyle blog, The Tig, before marrying Harry—with American Riviera Orchard.

Meghan announced her lifestyle brand in the spring but has yet to officially launch, only offering glimpses through her celebrity friends’ social media posts.

Also on the way is a Netflix show about gardening, cooking, entertaining, and friendship. Meghan, who reportedly wrapped filming earlier this summer, is said to have “really enjoyed” being back in front of the camera.

Another project in the works includes a new podcast. Meghan inked a deal with Lemonada Media Podcast, which will see the release of a new, untitled podcast and streaming of Archetypes Season 1.

Finally, Meghan’s last project is the film adaptation of Carley Fortune’s Meet Me at the Lake novel. She and Harry are producing the Netflix movie as part of their multi-year contract with the streamer.
